I met Lee Flanagan from Pure Sage this year at Expo West. They make beautiful, sustainable tote bags from 100% recycled plastic. They use plastic bottles removed from oceans and landfills. Lee sent me some bags to use and share.
Lee Flanagan is a third generation female business owner. Lee was initially introduced to the reusable bag market as an Angel Investor for a female owned and operated company. In the last few years, Lee’s research discovered that there were limited options in the high-fashion, high-quality reusable bag space. Pure Sage was born. The mission was simple – to design, manufacture and sell beautiful bags that would feel great and inspire consumers who are trying to live more sustainably with style.
Pure Sage bags are constructed with post-consumer recycled polyester (rPet). This is a sturdy material made from repurposed plastic containers (such as water and clear soda bottles). They remove plastic waste out from our oceans and landfills and one Pure Sage bag can replace up to 500 single-use bags each year! They also make laundry bags, packing cubes and various pouches for travel and organizing.
Pure Sage bags come in three sizes – Mini, Medium and Macro. They’re all washable and strong enough to carry at least 40 pounds – even the Mini size.
- Mini– Use the Mini when just a little bag will do. It’s perfect for the gym, the airport or your take-out lunch order.
- Medium – Their most popular size bag. Keep one in your purse, backpack and car at all times for shopping, groceries, trips to the pharmacy, travel and urban living.
- Macro– Grab this oversized tote for bulky groceries, a bundle of beach towels or Costco runs. Plus, there’s a handy cell phone/key pocket to help keep you organized.
I love the Mini or Medium size to store in my purse for every day needs. The Macro is great for the trunk of the car for grocery and Costco runs.
