I met Robert from Dan the Baking Man at the Free People shake out before the Chicago Half Marathon. An avid runner, Robert’s in B-school and he works with his brother Dan on promoting their plant-based gluten free cookies. Robert, his sister and (now) brother-in-law came to the run with their cute branded t-shirts. I, of course, asked about the logo and got to sample some yummy cookies.
Dan and Robert created DTBM’s first plant-based cookies. As long-time athletes (and cross-fit champs), they knew the importance of fueling their bodies with nutritious foods, but enjoyed sweets. They looked for good tasting, good for you cookies. Every time they picked up a box of “healthy” cookies, they were disappointed by the long list of artificial ingredients and added sugars. So they created “the cookie no one thought was possible.” These real ingredient, plant-based cookies taste great and are good for you.
These cookies are gluten free and vegan. They use real food ingredients like almond flour, safflower oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract and topping. The cookies are made with a handful of ingredients. Each cookie has 180 calories or less and each package contains 2 cookies.
Dan the Baking Man cookies come in three flavors. They are Chocolate Chip Chunk, Matcha White Chip and Rainbow Sprinkles.
I love these cookies – especially Rainbow Sprinkle. Check out this reel of us trying some at the Chicago Marathon shakeout at Arc’teryx Chicago. I’ve shared these cookies with a bunch of friends and they’re a hit. The feedback is that these taste so good and everyone loves the real food ingredients with no weird artificial stuff that you find in some GF cookies.
