I found Henrietta Said wing flavored peanuts at Sweets & Snacks this year. They won “Most Innovative New Product” in the Savory Snacks category for their Ancho Kimchi peanuts. They also have three other savory “wing” flavors and all four made the finals for this award! I met up with them at Expo East and they sent me all of the flavors to try and share.
Henrietta Said is a new brand offering from the Truly Good Foods. Founded in 1977 and based in Charlotte, N.C., Truly Good Foods specializes in freshly roasted nuts and seeds, premium snacking mixes and innovative snack products. Henrietta Said was created from the desire to take a familiar ingredient everyone knows and loves (peanuts) and experiment with exciting flavors. They take flavors like ancho and kimchi and serve them up in an approachable way.
Henrietta Said starts with Super XL Virginia Peanuts. They add a variety of spices and no artificial flavors. They have 7 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber per serving and no added sugar. All flavors are vegan (despite being based on chicken wing flavors) and gluten free.
Henrietta Said comes in 4 delicious “wing inspired” flavors. They are Ancho Kimchi, Lemon Pepper, Original Buffalo and Nashville Hot Chicken.
I’m a fan of all four flavors. If I had to pick one for a snack, I’d pick Ancho Kimchi first then Lemon Pepper. I like these in salads, too! I did an Instagram stories poll and asked which people wanted to try most. Lemon Pepper (50%) won by a large margin followed by Nashville Hot (30%), then Ancho Kimchi (20%) and Original Buffalo (0).
