It’s the last Friday of the month, so it’s time to join Marcia for “Runfessions!” Runfessions are running truths or “where runners bare their souls and soles.” October is coming to an end, so I’m here at the runfessional again. It’s only 1 week to the NYC Marathon and I runfess… I’m excited.
I runfess… I still can’t get over how much fun I had in the Chicago Marathon despite a rough start. (In case you missed it, I tripped over a poncho ON the start line!) It really was an epic day for a run and I’m grateful that my cranky hamstring held up and I was able to complete the marathon without too much trouble. Read my full recap here.
I runfess… I’m still on my run streak. Today was day 1,345. I was going to put a fork in it after my fall and cranky hamstring after Chicago. I ran 2 – 3 miles per day mostly on the treadmill to test it the week after the race. By Sunday, it was feeling a lot better so I kept going. We’ll see how I feel after NYC on 11/5. I might call it then. I’ll keep you posted.
I runfess… I’m geeking out sharing all of my tips for NYC and obsessively checking the weather for next weekend’s NYC Marathon. I runfess… I’m wearing the same outfit for NYC as I have the last few years and for Chicago. I’m easy to spot and I like it. I tried out a new singlet for Mountains 2 Beach and it didn’t make me as happy.
I runfess… I’m still smiling about our epic turnout for the Arc’teryx Chicago and Gold Coast Run Club shake out for Chicago. We had over 100 runners come out. So awesome. I’m looking forward to our store anniversary run on 11/12. In town and want to join us, RSVP here.
