I’m always on the look out for the best better-for-you treats. I tried The Empowered Cookie in a few subscription boxes and I liked them. They messaged me on Instagram to see if I wanted to try all of the flavors, so of course I said “Yes!” They sent me two of each flavor, so I’m going to send one 6 flavor sampler to a lucky reader!
Empowered Cookie was developed by a trained pastry chef with a background in nutrition. Natalia set out to make fresh, delicious and nutritious cookies. She and the rest of her team are dedicated to promoting total wellness. These snacks are made from healthy, ethically sourced ingredients that can “nourish your body and our planet.”
Empowered Cookies are vegan and gluten free and have no added sugar. They are lightly sweetened with coconut nectar. They have protein from almond meal and fiber from flax meal and high quality fats. These make them filling and help to avoid the “sugar crash.” The cookies are pretty large and all weigh in between 200 and 270 calories which makes them a great snack.
Empowered Cookies come in 6 great flavors. They are Chocolate Chip Walnut, Double Chocolate Chunk, Raisin Walnut, Chocolate Chip Cherry, Ginger Molasses and Lemon Lavender Poppy Seed.
The cookies are soft but hold together well. I’m a huge Ginger Molasses fan so that one is my favorite. The Husband and I enjoyed the Double Chocolate Chunk when I was getting my kit ready for the Boston Marathon. He didn’t complain that it tasted like health food. That’s a win! All six flavors have very fresh ingredients and good flavor profiles.
