I found Hu Chocolate at Expo West in 2016. They launched with a line of dark chocolate Paleo chocolate bars and have since expanded into baking chocolate, grass-fed milk chocolate and snack foods. All along, they have kept their focus on ingredients that are simple, straightforward and good for you. Plus, they never sacrifice taste.
This line started from a New York restaurant, Hu Kitchen. Hu Kitchen was an early entry with Paleo/primal food concept. They had strict ingredient “guardrails” and struggled to find a delicious chocolate to fit the concept and parameters they set. They decided to develop their own delicious chocolate that is paleo, vegan and easy to bake with.
I love Hu Chocolate and am also a big fan of their Grain-Free Cookies. The cookies are gluten and grain free, dairy free and contain no added sugar. They are Paleo (except Peanut Butter), non-GMO and Keto friendly. They’re sweetened with dates and have no “weird” ingredients or artificial sweeteners.
Hu Grain-Free Cookies come in four varieties. They are Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Chip, Ginger Snap and Peanut Butter.
I love these cookies. My faves are Ginger Snap and Snickerdoodle, but I like all four flavors. They’re crunchy and taste great. I love them alone or dipped in tea or coffee. A serving of 9 cookies (shown) has only 120 calories. The best thing about these cookies is that they don’t taste like “better for you” cookies – they taste like cookies (and happen to be better for you!)
