It’s the last Friday of the month, so it’s time to join Marcia for “Runfessions!” Runfessions are running truths or “where runners bare their souls and soles.” I can’t believe it’s almost 2023. It’s been a big year in running, so here are my final runfessions of 2022.
I runfess… As much as I like winter running, I missed a bad storm and polar plunge in Chicago and traded it for palm trees and hills in Los Angeles. Sorry – not sorry about that one. I did try to be nice and not to share too many photos of my running in the sun.
I runfess… I’m still doing my run streak. I reached 1,000 days on November 15 in London and I’ve been able to keep it up. December 31 is day 1,046. It’s tempting to see if I can make it to 3 years on February 20, 2023. I’ll let you know. Check out my Zoo Lights birthday run (Day 1,021) reel here.
I runfess… I inadvertently have signed up for four marathons next year not including NYC. I deferred Mountains2Beach this year to run Grandma’s and then signed up for Boston, so that’s two in the spring. Then I have Chicago and plan to sign up for NYC again. I got an e-mail that my CIM registration from 2020 can be used in 2023 at no cost. So… of course I signed up. Busy year!
I runfess… I’ve been running on some serious hills here in Los Angeles. While it’s really tough, it makes me feel so strong. I’m committing to do more hills next year. Please keep me honest on this!
I runfess… I’m going to try to be a bit more intentional about doing speed work in 2023 to get my 10K and half marathon times down. I have some loose goals in mind. How about you? Any goals for the new year?
Do you have any Runfessions? Please leave them in the comments.
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday. Join us!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and joyous new year filled with miles and smiles.
Have a great weekend!
