Växa Nutrition reached out to see if I wanted to try their organic, plant based nutrition bars. The bars are seed based and contain no added sugar. Their slogan is “Eat Like You Matter.” They “make food for people who read the ingredients label.” Of course I said “yes!” They sent me a variety pack and will send one to a lucky reader.
Växa’s mission is “to teach the world how to love whole ingredients that fuel active lifestyles without the added sugars, additives or chemicals.” They offer 100% ingredient transparency from sourcing to implementation. Like many companies in the healthy, organic sector, Växa started with a mom who wanted better options to feed her family. She was not happy with the amount of sugar in bars – especially those targeted at kids. They set out to make a snack that “doesn’t compromise healthy ingredients with sugars, or hide behind a “fake chocolate chip cookie flavor”… and Växa was born!
Växa Bars are made with organic, natural ingredients. They are vegan, keto friendly, gluten, soy and nut free. The bars contain no added sugar, additives, GMOs or preservatives.
The bars come in four flavors. They are Beet Coco, Orange Turmeric, No Nut PB & J and Blueberry Cacao. For athletes they recommend Beet Coco and Orange Turmeric – both have anti-inflammatory ingredients good for pre- and post-workout.
The bars are a mix of savory and sweet. They are soft and dense. I like the taste of the hemp and pumpkin seeds. My favorites are the Orange Turmeric (it’s savory and I would like it even more if they dialed up the orange) and No Nut PB & J. These are great after a workout or as an afternoon snack. I like they’re filling and don’t leave me craving sugary snacks.
