You may remember Olyra Breakfast Biscuits from my earlier posts. These whole grain, organic breakfast biscuits were “inspired by the endurance of Olympic Runners, the wisdom of Athenian Philosophers and the might of Spartan Warriors.” They have three varieties of biscuits and three varieties of sandwich biscuits. And they’re all delicious!
The founder of Olyra’s family has been milling grain in Greece for five generations. They crafted these breakfast biscuits out of a combination of ancient grains, fruits and spices. They say that they’re “new to shelves, but 100 years in the making.”
Olyra Breakfast Biscuits and Sandwiches are plant based, organic and all natural. They’re made with organic whole grains including barley, lupine, oats and spelt. They’re high in Vitamin B, fiber and protein. Each pack contains 5g protein, 4g fiber and only 6g sugars.
I visited with the Olyra team at Expo West and they sent me a box of each variety. The original breakfast biscuit varieties are Cinnamon Tahini, Hazelnut Carob and Fig Anise. Cinnamon Tahini and Fig Anise are my favorites. I especially enjoy them dipped in coffee or tea.
The sandwich biscuits are Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut and Cocoa and Greek Yogurt and Blueberry. We like all three flavors of sandwich biscuits. Greek Yogurt Blueberry is our morning favorite and Dark Chocolate is our preferred afternoon snack. I’m not usually a chocolate in the morning person, but these do work for me! I like how they’re filling and satisfying but not too sweet.
We like all three varieties of the original breakfast biscuits. They’re filling and add to a healthy balanced breakfast. They’re excellent dunked in coffee. My favorite is Cinnamon Tahini.
