I found Freshe Meals at The Fancy Food Show in 2019. Nicoise salad is one of my faves so when I saw this portable version, I was intrigued. I’m a big fan of the original globally inspired, tuna meals. When I saw that they introduced salmon varieties, I emailed to learn more. They sent me some to try and will send one lucky reader some, too.
The founders of Freshe were sourcing sardines in Europe and found the centuries old tradition of premium, tinned meals. When they came back, they couldn’t get the idea out of their minds, so they started testing meal ideas. They use sustainably sourced tuna (and now salmon) with vegetables, legumes, vibrant herbs, spices and olive oil with “globally inspired recipes.”
Freshe’s 4 oz tins contain “small meals with big protein.” These high-protein meals are responsibly sourced, packed in BPA-free tins and are made from sustainable, wild-caught protein. They use all-natural, non-GMO ingredients. All meals are gluten-free and a great source of vitamins and omega-3s, too.
Freshe’s new salmon meals comes in two globally inspired flavors. They are Moroccan Tagine and Barcelona Escalivada.
I’m a huge fan of Freshe meals. I’ve tried them all on salad, with veggies and on wraps. With the salmon, my favorite is Barcelona Escalivada. I love that it’s saucy with a little kick, so you don’t need to add salad dressing. The Thai Sriracha and Provence Nicoise are my favorite of the original tuna varieties.
