It’s the first weekend of the month, so grab your mug for a coffee date. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date.
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about my trip to Miami. Maria, Heather, Jen and I ran the half marathon. Mary was our cheerleader and paparazzi. We had a great time exploring Wynwood, Brickell and Coral Gables. The race turned was pretty hot (70 degrees at 6:00 start time) but I was happy with how I ran and felt. Heat is my kryptonite, but I remained positive and had fun. It was a great trip and a fun first race of the year. I’d ask if you’ve taken any fun trips or run any races yet this year.
If we were having coffee… I’d also tell you that I finally made it to Las Vegas to see my mom. We were supposed to go in December, but we had to reschedule because of COVID. It had been over three years since I saw my mom. Crazy! Luckily, she’s been feeling well and she looks great. My brother and Dan met me and we stayed out near the Red Rocks. We visited with my mother and her husband out that way, went to Ethel M’s Chocolates and Cactus Garden and had dinner on the Strip.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I also ran the Rock n Roll Las Vegas Half because it was on the Sunday evening I was there. I’d never run a half marathon that started in the evening – it starts at 4:30 and runs on The Strip. I’m not a big Vegas fan but I really enjoyed the course and all of the music. I had a lot more fun than I expected to. I had to walk several miles back to my hotel and had some hassles before the race. I’d say I’m one and done with this race, but I’m glad I did it. I’d ask if you were a Vegas fan or not.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m going to see Come From Away this weekend. I haven’t seen a show or movie in a theater since December 2019! I’ve heard this performance is awesome.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m excited to go to Expo West next week and to run the NYC Half the weekend of 3/20. These were the first events to cancel in 2020 and also cancelled in 2021. I’m so grateful to have these back and can’t wait to share my experiences. Also, if any one is interested in running the NYC Half, Alexandra’s Playground has a bunch of bibs and they’re waiving the fundraising minimum (the participant has to cover registration fee and their cost). If you’re interested, send me an email.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!
