I met the sisters behind Beeyond Bars at Expo East this year. Their marketing touts them as “The Original Energy Bar.” Why? The bars are made of sesame and honey and inspired by the Ancient Greeks. They say, “In 700 BC, sesame and honey fueled the athletes of the original Olympic Games” so the mixture deserves this title. I love the combo of sesame and honey so I could not wait to try these!
Beeyond was started by two sisters of Greek heritage. They have “a passion for wholesome nutrition and a mission to reinvent the energy bar with ingredients and a process you can trust.”
Beeyond Bars combine healthy fats and protein (sesame and nuts) with high energy carbs (honey and dried fruit). This five ingredient formula keeps you fueled and tastes great. The bars are gluten free, dairy free, soy free and contain no preservatives. They also contain natural probiotics which help with digestion and immunity.
Beeyond Bars come in three great flavors. They are Peanut Chocolate Sea Salt, Apricot Coconut Cashew and Vanilla Blueberry Almond.
I love sesame and honey, so these are a new fave. They’re pretty soft and only a bit sticky from the honey. They feel like a treat but I like that they have 5g of protein per bar and healthy fats so I feel satisfied when I eat them. I like them all, but my favorite is Apricot Coconut Cashew because it’s a little different. I shared with Lauren and her favorite is Vanilla Blueberry Almond. She said, they’re “tasty and satiating with a good texture – these bars did not disappoint.”
