I reconnected with the team from RIND Snacks at Expo East this year. I first met RIND’s founder, Matt Weiss, at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in 2019. RIND makes skin-on dried fruit and has a new line of all fruit chips. Their motto is “Keep it Real. Eat the Peel.” We’re big fans! They sent me a bunch of varieties to eat and an awesome prize pack to give away.
RIND’s founder, Matt, followed in the foot steps of his grandmother who was a health food pioneer. She opened a health food store long before it was in vogue. She sold only all natural foods and nothing went to waste. RIND believes that “a healthy snack can be both good for you and the planet. [Their] mission is to help consumers snack better and do better by eating the whole fruit, maximizing nutritional value and minimizing food waste.” So far, they’ve saved over 120,000 lbs of produce in making their products!
RIND Snacks contain only fruit – no preservatives, artificial ingredients or added sugar. Fruit rinds have more dietary fiber and antioxidants than peeled fruit. They use the whole fruit so there’s no waste! They grow all of the fruit in the USA and it’s non-GMO, too.
RIND’s chewy fruit snacks come in six varieties. They are Straw-Peary, Tangy Kiwi, Orchard, Tropical, Coco-Melon and Coconut Crisps. The new chips come in three varieties: Apple, Orange and Kiwi.
I like all of the flavors of chewy fruit snacks that I’ve tried. My faves are Straw-Peary and Orchard. The Husband loves the Apple chips. I could barely get a few before he ate the whole bag! I just ordered some Orange chips and feel like those will be a big winner for us, too.
