I’m always on the look out for tasty, all natural energy bars. I met the folks from G2G Bar at Sweets and Snacks. They gave a bunch of the flavors to try and then sent more for us to enjoy. If you missed my Sweets & Snacks recap, you can check it out here.
G2G started making all natural, refrigerated protein bars in 2010. Then, people were used to finding protein bars “packed with preservatives and sitting on grocery store shelves.” The idea of a fresh protein bars was pretty foreign to everyone. In an attempt to encourage folks to try their bars, they created the motto: “When you eat one, you’ll know.”
G2G packs every bar with clean, simple, fresh ingredients. They contain no preservatives or artificial ingredients. G2G bars are gluten free, high in protein and contain no refined sugar or sugar alcohols. The bars are good for 30 days out of the refrigeration or for 6 months refrigerated.
G2G Bars have almond nutter or peanut butter as a base. They come in eight great flavors. They are Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Peanut Butter Coconut Chocolate, Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate, Almond Mocha, Almond Chocolate Chip, Almond Oatmeal Cookie and Almond Coconut.
Our faves are Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Coconut Chocolate and Almond Oatmeal Cookie. These are very filling so The Husband eats them when he’s working, or working on his car, and needs something to hold him over for the afternoon. Our Hood to Coast team fueled up with these before our afternoon and evening runs. They’re filling enough to be a meal replacement and taste great, too! I like to eat half before a run and the other half after.
