If you’ve been around here, you know I love my caffeine – sometimes too much. I like my caffeinated Run Gum so much that I became an ambassador in 2015. They say it’s “a new way to help boost your mood so that you can stay calm and run your day!”
Run Gum was developed by Olympian Nick Symmonds who also studied Biochemistry. As he was competing, he was always looking for a legal way to get an edge on the competition. He and his coach experimented with non-banned performance enhancing stimulants. Pulling from Nick’s biochemistry background and experience, they “knew about chemicals that the human body needed to perform optimally.” They focused on caffeine. They liked the impact but not all of the extra liquid from coffee or energy drinks.
What’s in Calm Gum? This “gum with benefits” uses ingredients to help support everyday stress and anxiety. It has GABA, Ashwagandha, L-Theanine and more.
- GABA – helps to relax the mind and relieve stress
- Ashwagandha – ancient herb used to help reduce stress by lowering cortisol
- L-Theanine – an amino acid that works with GABA to help with focus and mood
Calm Gum comes in two flavors. They are Lavender & Raspberry Lemon. They’re both sugar free, gluten free and vegan friendly. You can chew one piece per day so the whole package lasts a month. I tried the Lavender first – it’s a very subtle flavor. I prefer the Raspberry Lemon but they’re both pleasant.
