Summer’s coming but hydration is important all year round. Most people don’t drink enough water, but even if you do, your electrolytes can be off. And you know what that means – headaches, low energy and fatigue.
Hydrant founders, John and Jai, teamed up to solve their own hydration problems. Jai dropped out of business school and invested his tuition money. John, a scientist, put on his lab coat and experimented to launch the first flavor of Hydrant. And now they have a full line of electrolyte products including original, no sugar added and caffeinated.
Hydrant is all natural. It’s always made with real fruit juice powder, and never contains any artificial sweeteners, synthetic colors or dyes or stevia. Hydrant features a balance of electrolytes based on The World Health Organization’s guidelines for oral rehydration. They say that traditional sports drinks contain fewer electrolytes per ounce and proportionally much lower potassium.

They sent me the original Hydrant electrolyte drink to try. They sent a variety pack with three flavors: Blood Orange, Grapefruit and Lime. The convenient sticks can be mixed with 8 to 16 oz of water. I generally use half a stick in a pint glass with ice.
I like all three flavors, but Grapefruit is my favorite. I’ve been using this before and after morning runs and in the afternoon if I feel dehydrated. This version contains sugar, but it’s not sweet and has a refreshing, light flavor. I’m a big fan. I love that it has no stevia or artificial flavors. I can really tell the difference in the taste the difference.
