According to Healthline, Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet, hands and ears. It’s based on a theory that these body parts are connected to certain organs and body systems. We’ve had Reflexology massages in Hong Kong and Vietnam. The Husband is into them! I got a couple of Futzuki Reflexology Massage Mats to try at home. I tried one and will give one away.
Futzuki combines the ancient art of reflexology with an “innovative healing design.” Reflexology works with the pressure points on the bottom of the feet to help reduce pain and to increase circulation throughout the whole body.
The benefits of the Futzuki Reflexology Massage Mat:
- Helps relieve plantar fasciitis, heel pain, arch pain and tingling
- Over 2,800 massage nodes
- Massages heels, arch, foot pad and toes
- Sends pain relieving signals to your entire body
The Futzuki Mat is lightweight. It’s easy to take with you or to use wherever you are in the house. It comes with several exercises you can try to get different points in your feet. Check out this article in Well + Good to see a chart on the areas of the foot that correspond to different parts of the body in Reflexology.
I tried the basic position standing with my arches on the highest points. I use Sole Healers but this is a bit different. The number of small points is pretty intense. I stood on it for 15 seconds at a time for several rounds.
They suggest wearing socks if the feeling is too intense. I put on some socks and was able to do all of the recommended exercises. My feet feel good. I’m going to keep working with this mat a few times a week to see if I notice any other benefits.
