If you’ve been around here, you know that I love my compression gear. Recently I had the opportunity to try CopperJoint compression socks. They have the benefits of compression, like improved circulation, plus added benefits from copper fibers.
CopperJoint was founded in 2014 after a personal experience. A couple vacationing in Vietnam met a kite surfing instructor who suffered severe joint pain after each coaching session. Learning of copper’s healing properties, he experimented with copper-infused compression and told the couple of his promising results. Since then, the group has perfected the design of copper-infused compression garments for most major joints. They’ve accumulated “thousands of happy, healing, and pain-free customers along the way.”
Why copper? According to CopperJoint:
- Copper is known to promote the development of blood vessels and rejuvenate skin through the synthesis of collagen and elastin, enhance oxygen delivery and augment airflow.
- It’s a completely safe, chemical free, natural, non-drug and non-invasive solution.
- Copper has been shown in published studies to destroy 99.9% of bacteria, fungi and viruses within minutes of contact. That means it stops bad odors!
- Copper ions are bonded on a molecular level so they don’t leach. The benefits last the lifetime of the product.
They sent me three pairs of short compression socks to try. The cotton socks contain 15% copper nylon fibers and 5% elastane. The anti-itch, UPF 50+ material stays warm in cold temperatures, cooler in the heat, and protects from harmful UV rays. The socks are designed to “stimulate oxygen delivery to the muscles and augment airflow.” This aids with joint and muscle recovery, and supports rejuvenating relief from pain and discomfort.
The socks are super comfortable. The material is soft and the socks fit well. They’re not super tight like some compression socks, but the design is intended to improve blood flow while enabling a full range of motion. My favorite feature is that they’re anti-microbial. Especially in summer, my shoes and socks get so smelly. Not to be gross, but I can wear these a few times between washes and no smell! That will be great for travel and running adventures like Hood to Coast.
