If you’ve been around here, you know I love Bubba’s Fine Foods’ Paleo snack mixes and “Ungranola.” I first reviewed them in 2016 (post) and have enjoying them ever since. They recently sent me their new Keto Snack Mixes to try. They sent two of each flavor so one lucky reader can try them pre-release, too.
Bubba’s Fine Foods was started in 2014 by Jared Menzel his brother-in-law, Jeff Schmidgall. Each bag of grain-free snacks is hand-crafted in small batches. Jared (a/k/a Bubba) is a self-taught chef. He changed his diet to clean, high nutrient and low glycemic foods. He started experimenting and creating his own clean, real-food snacks in his kitchen. Jeff is a Crossfit Trainer and health coach who adopted a Paleo lifestyle in 2014. He fell in love with the snack mix and the rest is history.
The new Keto Snack Mixes are grain free and vegan like other Bubba’s products. They’re “an indulgent mix” of nuts and seeds with spices. For these keto friendly mixes, they use only non-GMO ingredients and have no added sugar. If you count carbs, they have 3g of net carbs each – even the sweet flavors.
The Keto Snack Mixes come in six flavors – some are sweet and some are savory. The flavors are Traditional, Pepperoni Pizza, Thai Sweet Chili, Sour Cream and Chive, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Maple Cinnamon Praline.
I love the savory flavors! I’m a big fan of Bubba’s Traditional Paleo Snack mix and this version is the same minus the green banana chips. The Pepperoni Pizza is a huge winner. I recommend it for anyone who loves this spicy flavor but doesn’t eat meat! I tried the Maple Cinnamon Praline first as that’s one of my favorite combos, but I’m not a fan of stevia or erythritol so I didn’t love it. Since I don’t watch carbs or follow a Keto diet, I’ll stick to the savory flavors, UnGranola or Paleo Mixes.
