It’s Friday, so I’m linking up for the new Fit Friday Five. I’m doubling down and linking up with Marcia for January “Runfessions,” too! Runfessions are running truths or “where runners bare their souls and soles.”
I runfess… I’m grateful that my ten month plus running streak has not resulted in any injuries. I’m at 345 days of (average) 6+ miles per day. I never had any interest in this before, but I’ve enjoyed this challenge and I’m really enjoying my daily runs.
I runfess… Olivia and I were woefully unprepared for our 5 mile trail race in early January. We thought the trail would be groomed but it was about 90% was covered in ice. We wore regular shoes and unfortunately left our trail shoes and Yaktrax at home. Our goal was to remain upright and to have fun. We accomplished both. She was 2nd in our age group and I was 3rd. We got awesome generic 2 and 3 medals and had a blast. I’ve now run as many races in 2021 as I did 2020 – one!
I runfess… I’ve been loving the coldest mornings for running as the sunrises and morning views are just fantastic. Keep an eye on my Instagram and Instagram stories for my daily #seenonmyrun posts.
I runfess… I can’t wait for the ice and snow to clear to try my new Hoka Carbon X 2s. You may have seen my Hoka shoe reviews last Friday. I’ve been wearing mostly Hokas for the last 6 months. I bought the Carbon X in 2019 and wore them for the NYC Marathon. I was keeping them for races, but when they all got cancelled, I added them into the mix. I’m glad I did! The “2” is supposed to be even better. I’ll let you know!
I runfess… I’m excited to announce that I’ve been selected as a SPIBelt Ambassador. If you’ve been around here you know, I’ve been wearing SPIBelt for as long as I can remember. I’ve worn the Glide (double pocket belt) in a ton of races and I love it. They have a lot of great new products and I’ll get to test and share a lot more!
Do you have any Runfessions to share? Please leave them in the comments.
Have a great weekend!
PS. Don’t miss my great giveaways!
