I won a giveaway on Instagram from SmartSweets and Kelly Strom. They sent two of each of six low sugar candies as my prize. I’m going to share one of each variety with a lucky reader.
In the summer of 2015, Smart Sweets’ founder dropped out of college in her quest to “keep candy and kick sugar.” She started with a gummy bear molds and tried out many recipes until she perfected it. In March 2018, Whole Foods contacted them about a global launch which took place within a year. Now, SmartSweets candies are available more than 20,000 stores and they’ve helped people “kick” over a billion grams of sugar!
Every ingredient in SmartSweets is non-GMO, always real and never artificial. They use naturally sweet plant-based fiber and sweeteners and natural fruit flavors to make the candy sweet, juicy and delicious. All candies are free from common allergens and are made in a gluten-free, peanut-free and tree nut-free facility. They use fruit and vegetable juices such as pumpkin, carrot, and spirulina from natural algae for natural vibrant colors.
SmartSweets come in eight varieties. They are Fruity Gummy Bears, Sour Gummy Bears, Sweet Fish, Sour Blast Buddies, Sweet Chews, Peach Rings, Sourmelon Bites and Red Twists. My faves are the Sweet Fish and Fruity Gummy Bears.
