The folks from Momentous got in touch to see if I was interested in checking out some of their performance products. They make a variety of NSF Certified for Sport products including protein powders, collagen and other supplements. I’d seen the brand on The Feed and thought it looked great. They sent over a variety of protein powders and their Elite Sleep product for me to try.
Momentous products are “designed for anyone who wants to get the most out of what they do.” They make products for everyone from professional athletes to weekend warriors. They make products that are “grounded in science and designed with a purpose.” Their supplements contain high quality and scientifically proven ingredients.
The sent over several sample packs of protein powders including plant based and whey protein. They make an “Essential” line and a “Recovery” line – with products for endurance and strength recovery. All varieties are gluten free, non-GMO and are NSF Certified for Sport and Informed Sport Certified. The Essential comes in plant based and whey. The plant based protein is a blend of pea and rice protein that is optimized to have a complete amino acid profile and great taste. The whey is 100% grass fed and contains an enzyme blend to support digestion and amino acid absorption. The Recovery line is whey protein.
The plant based protein comes in Chocolate and Vanilla Chai flavors. The whey protein varieties come in Veracruz Vanilla and Piedmont Chocolate.
We made smoothies with the plant based Chocolate and the whey based Veracruz Vanilla. The Endurance Recovery has “quality carbohydrates to replenish muscle glycogen and additional training-specific nutrients such as glutamine and high quality electrolytes.” The Husband loved the flavor and it was super creamy mixed with just a cup of milk and some ice in the blender. He gave it two thumbs up. I made the plant based Chocolate with almond milk and ice. I ran out of oat milk which would have been creamier. I added some tahini in to make it creamier and a little nutty. It was tasty and filling. I definitely want to try these in oatmeal or other recipes.
