I found Evergreen Waffles on Instagram. I loved the clean ingredients, flavors and the fresh branding. I found out that they were a new, Chicago company and then my friends from Knack PR sent me all of the flavors to try.
Evergreen’s founder, Emily, is a working mom who was looking for quick, healthy breakfast options for her family. She knew frozen waffles were a toddler favorite, so she started looking at “better-for-you” options in the frozen food aisle. She couldn’t find a brand that “checked all of her boxes,” so she started developing her own recipe in her home kitchen.
Evergreen’s Waffles are made with real food ingredients. They contain no refined sugars, dairy or preservatives. They’re made with whole grains and then flavored with fruit, vegetables, nuts and spices. The original recipes were all from scratch and the packaged product stays true to the recipes. Each flavor has about 10 ingredients and no surprises.
Everygreen Waffles come five varieties. They are Peanut Butter & Banana, Mixed Berry & Almond, Pumpkin & Pecan, Chocolate Chip Matcha and Zucchini and Carrot.
While we liked them all, our house had two distinct favorites. We loved Peanut Butter & Banana and Mixed Berry & Almond. I expected to love the Pumpkin & Pecan actually preferred Chocolate Chip Matcha. The Zucchini and Carrot were tasty and I think I may try them with a savory topping instead of maple syrup which is my go-to waffle topper. These are perfect to have on hand for busy households as they’re stored frozen and then toasted.
