What happens when a trained pastry chef decides to make a delicious, healthy cookie? Choomi Cookies. Choomi Cookies are soft and chewy cookies made in small batches and baked by hand in Maine.
Choomi Cookie creator, Peter Zinn, has worked in restaurants from Northern Italy to NYC. He even did a stint as a pastry chef at New York City’s famed restaurant Alain Ducasse. The original Choomi Cookie—a soft and chewy coconut macaroon—is the result of a culmination of recipes and techniques gathered through years of experience in the kitchen.
Choomi macaroons and cookies are made with healthy, whole ingredients and nothing artificial. What they put in the cookies is as important as what they don’t. They contain no white sugar, no dairy, no soy and no grains of any kind. Each cookie is only 90 calories and is filled with wholesome ingredients you can identify in every bite. That’s a win-win!
Choomi Cookies’ macaroons and bites come in four flavors. They are Coconut Macaroons, Chocolate Chip Sunflower Macaroons, Brownie Bites and Blueberry Sunflower Bites. Choomi sent me the Chocolate Brownie Bites and Blueberry Sunflower Bites to try.
The Bites are like a cross between cookie dough and an energy bar. They are super soft and you can taste the ingredients. They’re perfect for an afternoon snack or even before a workout or run. They’d be great to bring on a hike or long bike ride.
I enjoyed both flavors. The ginger in the Brownie Bite sealed the deal to make it my favorite. The Blueberry Sunflower work hit the spot pre-run or as a morning snack for me. The Brownie was more like a dessert or treat for afternoon or after dinner.
