Tried it Tuesday: Mezcla Plant Based Protein Bars #Giveaway

The folks from Mezcla are celebrating the flavors of the world through food and art. Mezcla is more than just a bar. It’s a bar that supports cultural diversity and a global art movement.  Each bar has a QR code on it. If you scan it, you can see art submitted by fans and you can share yours.

Mezcla was born out of a desire to create a socially conscious brand. They donate 2% of profits to under served schools to fund the art programs that often go unfunded. They launched with a Kickstarter and supplied 30% of the initial shipment of bars to essential workers fighting COVID. They also supported the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

Mezcla Plant Protein Bars are vegan, gluten free and non-GMO. The protein comes from amaranth, quinoa, peas, nuts and seeds. They source global ingredients from fair trade sources. The matcha comes from Japan, the cocoa is from Peru and the chipotle peppers come from Mexico.

Mezcla Plant Protein Bars come in three flavors. They are Mexican Chipotle Hot Chocolate, Peruvian Cocoa Peanut Butter and Japanese Matcha Vanilla.

All of the Mezcla Bars are tasty and have a nice crunch. I like the crispy texture with the chocolate or vanilla coating. I started with the Mexican Chipotle Hot Chocolate as I’m a fan of that combo. I enjoyed it, but to my surprise the Japanese Matcha Vanilla was my favorite. The bars are filling and are a great afternoon snack with a tea or coffee.
