It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we’re having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’ve been so happy seeing friends outside for walks and socially distant coffee dates. That, running with friends and outdoor workouts have my spirits up right now. I’d ask what’s helping you get through the summer?
If we were having coffee… I tell you that I’m doing the Raise Well wellness challenge in August to support GBS | CIDP with Lynn. I’d ask you to join us – it’s free and fundraising is totally optional (Team IronLynn) or support us here. Are you doing any virtual races or running challenges this month or fall?
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you I had so much fun leading some “test” running tours to get ready to launch my Go! Running Chicago tours. It was great to be downtown and to run with friends and to meet some new people. It’s still fun to be downtown even with restrictions like barriers around the Bean and all of the fountains being off. I’d ask if things are “normal” at sights near you or restricted.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you were planning any vacations or staycations this summer. We decided to go to NJ to visit my brother and to see friends in a socially distant way, but then IL got on the quarantine list. Even though we were thinking of only going there and to visit friends in NY state in single houses, we decided it’s not worth the risk. I’m hoping that we’ll come off the list sometime this fall and we can still go for a few days, but it’s hard to be optimistic. What are you planning for this month and fall?
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about the virtual Rise.Run.Retreat that I participated in in July. Typically an in person running retreat, Sarah Canney hosted online “happy hours” and seminars on nutrition and body image. I’ve been missing meeting new people – especially runners. I enjoyed the content but was also surprised by how much I liked meeting a variety of runners from around the country virtually. There are two more virtual sessions. Check them out here and get 10% off with code EFVR10. You get a swag bag and access to the virtual community, too. I hope to go to one of these in person next year, too!
I’m also doing Flex & Flow Virtual Camp at the end of the month which replaces the live EMPOWER camp I went to last summer (and hope to go to next summer.) I’m looking forward to connecting with some of my friends from Flex & Flow (formerly Sweat Pink) and meeting new people, too.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
