If you’ve been around here, you know I love Bubba’s Fine Foods’ Paleo snack mixes and “Ungranola.” I first reviewed them in 2016 (post) and have enjoying them ever since. I was bummed to miss them at Expo West. They launched a new Bananas Foster Grain Free Ungranola so they sent me some to try and share.
Bubba’s Fine Foods was started in 2014 by Jared Menzel his brother-in-law, Jeff Schmidgall. Each bag of grain-free snacks is hand-crafted in small batches. Jared (a/k/a Bubba) is a self-taught chef. He changed his diet to clean, high nutrient and low glycemic foods. He started experimenting and creating his own clean, real-food snacks in his kitchen. Jeff is a Crossfit Trainer and health coach who adopted a Paleo lifestyle in 2014. He fell in love with the snack mix and the rest is history.
The secret ingredient in the snack mixes and Ungranola is the green Saba Banana. They’re packed with prebiotics, vitamins and minerals and are low in sugar. They “douse” them in nutrient-dense coconut oil and bold, natural seasonings.
Ungranola is Paleo, vegan and gluten free. They’re non-GMO project certified, contain no refined sugar, no dairy or soy and contain all real food ingredients.
The Bananas Foster tastes amazing. It’s rich but not too sweet. This is my favorite Ungranola so far! I ate it straight from the bag as a morning and afternoon snack. My only complaint is that it’s kind of hard to stop eating. I shared some with my friend Lauren and she’s a big fan, too. She said, “it’s fantastic!”
