It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m SUPER excited to run my 20th NYC Marathon this weekend! The weather forecast looks perfect and I can’t wait to see a whole bunch of friends this weekend. It’s just the best! If you’re running or know anyone who is, I’d tell you to check out my updated NYC Marathon tips post on Runstreet’s blog. [Also, get 15% off on Run Ink prints, mugs (like the one above) and accessories with code ERICANYC from 11/2 – 11/8.]
If we were having coffee… I’d invite you to the NYC Runstreet shake out on Saturday. We had a blast at the Chicago shake out this year. I’m also meeting up with friends from previous years and my new friend Kelly who I met at mile 11 of the Chicago Marathon this year! The run is 10 – 11:30 starting from the Ridge Hotel on East Houston St. Here’s the link to register.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m excited for our vacation to Greece in mid-November. I’ve been so busy with races, work and other trips that I haven’t been focusing on it. I’d ask if you’d been to Athens or other parts of mainland Greece and if you had any recommendations. I’d also ask if you have any fun travel coming up.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I loved Kara Goucher’s Podium Retreat! I mentioned it in my October Coffee Date post. The retreat is more of a women’s retreat than a running retreat. There were running sessions (we got to run quarters on the track with Kara), strength training, Pilates and self defense workshops. There were some great education sessions. The most unique part of it was hearing Kara’s “story” from her agent’s perspective and from her own perspective. There was also the opportunity to think about how the “stories” we create impact us and to share with the group.
I met some great women and truly enjoyed meeting Kara and Adam Goucher and Oiselle’s Sally Bergesen. It was a great opportunity and it exceeded my expectations. We also got some Altra shoes and great swag from Oiselle, Goodr, Nuun and more. I’d ask if you’d ever gone to a retreat of any kind.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about all of the great products I’ve received for my holiday gift guides. I’m doing one for runners and fit folks, one for “everyone else” and a stocking stuffer guide. I’d ask what’s on your list this year.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
Have a great weekend!
