I love snacks and women owned businesses. I met the team from Taali at Expo East when I won the “Women Owned Business Bingo.” (post) You might remember that I’m kind of obsessed with popped water lily seeds. Popped water lily seeds (also known as Makhana, fox nuts and lotus seeds) are the seeds from lotus flowers. When puffed, they’re like popcorn but they have higher protein, natural antioxidants and minerals.Â
The word Taali means “high five.” Taali Foods’ mission is to make snacks that are good for you and spread joy. This woman owned business wants to turn the snack industry on its head by offering a “delicious and guilt free snack loaded with good stuff. “
Taali Water Lily Pops are good and good for you. They’re roasted not fried, vegan (except White Cheddar), gluten free, contain no artificial flavors or GMOs.
Taali makes six flavors. They are a mix of Indian flavors and traditional American favorites. The flavors are Tikka Masala, Sriracha Spice, Tangy Turmeric, Salt & Pepper, Himalayan Pink Sea Salt and White Cheddar (not vegan).
My hands down favorite is Sriracha Spice. I like the Indian inspired flavors the best. They’re kind of addictive so I’m lucky that the whole bag maxes out around 300 calories! I prefer water lily pops over popcorn because they have more protein and actually fill me up. Another bonus – they don’t get stuck in your teeth.
