If you’ve been around here, you know I love my caffeine. I like my caffeinated Run Gum so much that I became an ambassador in 2015. Since then, they’ve expanded the number of flavors and created an “extra strength” version. The newest flavor is Bubblegum. I’m going to tell you about it and share some.
Run Gum was developed by Olympian Nick Symmonds who also studied Biochemistry. As he was competing, he was always looking for a legal way to get an edge on the competition. He and his coach experimented with non-banned performance enhancing stimulants. Pulling from Nick’s biochemistry background and experience, they “knew about chemicals that the human body needed to perform optimally.” They focused on caffeine. They liked the impact but not all of the extra liquid from coffee or energy drinks.
Run Gum has 50mg of caffeine, 20 mg of taurine and B vitamins. They say that the gum has five times faster caffeine absorption and gives you a “full tank” on an empty stomach. They suggest one piece before the run and one after or two pieces at once for “extra kick.” I generally go with 1 piece for a weekend run, 2 pieces before races and one at the half way mark in marathons, too.
The newest Run Gum flavor is Bubblegum. It tastes like a really good sugar free bubble gum. The flavor lasts really well and the texture is good. I’m a fan!
Want to try it? I’m going to send two lucky readers each 6 packs of Run Gum bubblegum flavor. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. The contest runs through October 29. A winner will be selected and notified on October 30. Winners must be US residents, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited.
