You might remember that I’m kind of obsessed with popped water lily seeds. Popped water lily seeds (also known as Makhana, fox nuts and lotus seeds) are the seeds from lotus flowers. When puffed, they’re like popcorn but they have higher protein, natural antioxidants and minerals. I met the team from Hopapops at Expo East.
The folks behind Hopapops discovered the health benefits of popped water lily seeds while doing business in India. They loved the taste and the nutrition profile so they decided to bring them to the US. They also give back to the communities they source in and work in.
Hopapops are good and good for you. They’re naturally gluten and soy free. They’re low in calories with protein and fiber. They’re packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. They’re “a great option for any diet or lifestyle” including Keto and Paleo.
Hopapops come in four flavors. They are (new) Himalayan Salt and Ghee, Coconut, White Cheddar and Mango Habanero.
My fave is the Mango Habanero (and The Husband likes them, too!) They are the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. They’re pretty addictive but they only have 110 calories per serving so eating half of the big bag is A-OK. I was pleasantly surprised by Coconut. They remind me of a healthy sugar cereal. Your kids may like them!
Want to try Hopapops? They will send one lucky reader a mixed case of all of the flavors. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. Giveaway runs through 10/23.
