Finds’ Faves: 88 Acres Bars + Seed Butters #Giveaway

I’ve been enjoying 88 Acres seed based bars and seed’nola since they launched in 2014. I supported their Kickstarter and reconnected with them in 2017 (post). They refreshed their branding and added an awesome line of seed based butters including new watermelon seed butter.

88 Acres came from the founder’s need to come up with tasty, healthy nut-free snacks for her husband. He has a life threatening nut allergy, so the founder (who grew up on an 88 acre organic farm) started “tinkering” with seed based bar recipes. Once their friends started asking for more, they launched 88 Acres. All of the seed based products are hand-crafted in Boston in a dedicated bakery free of peanuts, tree nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs and soy.

Catching up with 88 Acres at Sweets & Snacks

88 Acres bars are gluten free, nut free, non-GMO and vegan. They come in five flavors (plus a limited edition Blueberry Lemon (review). The flavors are Spiced Ginger Apple, Cinnamon and Oats, Triple Berry Blend, Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and Double Chocolate Mocha. My faves are Spiced Ginger Apple and Cinnamon and Oats, but I love them all.

88 Acres makes awesome seed butters. They use sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and (new) watermelon seeds. I love the Vanilla Spiced Sunflower Seed Butter on my english muffins and on apples. The new Watermelon Seed Butter won a Nexty at Expo East! The unsweetened watermelon butters are a great stand in for tahini with a “rich and buttery flavor” with more protein per serving than almonds or peanuts. I can’t wait to try this recipe for Vegan Seed Butter Queso. Check out other great recipes here.

Want to try 88 Acres? I’m going to send one lucky reader one of each bar and one of each seed butter (as shown above). The giveaway runs through September 25. A winner will be selected and notified on September 26. Winner must be a US resident, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited.
