It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too. I’m excited to feel a little chill in the air. September is one of my fave months!
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you I’m super excited to head back to Expo East in Baltimore this year. This is my fourth year in a row. I can’t wait to meet new brands and to see friends from brands I love. I know there will be a ton of Keto and CBD – neither of which interests me. That said, I know I’ll find a ton of new faves. I’d ask what products / trends you’re most interested in me finding this year. [Ironically, our host Coco will be in Chicago from the DC area. Sad to miss her.]
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about the Unsanctioned Race I ran with Nike Chicago this week. It was a “sprint elimination” race. Basically, we ran back and forth on a small field and had to get across before the beep and start running when we heard it. The paces got progressively faster. It ran until there was one person left. It was a lot of fun and I did better than I expected to. That said, I got to enjoy watching the end of the race from the sidelines. I loved trying it and hanging out with my friends. It was in a setting that was a secret gem, too!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I went to the Rutgers football opener against U Mass last week. I haven’t been to a Rutgers football game since the 90s. Boy, have things changed. They’ve expanded the stadium, the band, the dance team – EVERYTHING! It’s a real Big 10 football school. It was a blast and I loved hanging with Kathy and her family and tailgating, etc. We even won! I’d ask if you went to a real football school!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I also went to a party at my brother’s place when I was in NJ. If you’ve been around here, you know that Larry and Dan’s is my “happy place.” It is a peaceful and beautiful setting in the country. My brother is a fab caterer and the party was lovely. I’m so glad that I went. I wish I had one tenth (or even one fifth) of the mad food/party skills my brother has.
If we were having coffee… I’d mention that it’s 37 days until the Chicago Marathon. I feel like I’ll snap my fingers and it will be here. While I was initially dreading this race, I’m excited to run with so many friends in the race and on the course. I’m just hoping for a nice day for running! [Read: NOT hot!]
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
Have a great weekend!
