Huel, the number one nutrition brand in Europe has made its way the the US. I was given the opportunity to check out Huel to see what all of the fuss is about.
Huel has an impressive mission. It’s “to make nutritionally complete, convenient, affordable food, with minimum impact on the environment and animals.” It was born of the need to make nutritionally balanced food more accessible and affordable.
The founder of Huel followed a strict diet and exercise regimen. It took him most of the day to prepare food and to work out. He had great results but his friends and family wanted something easier to live with. His goal became to create “a perfectly balanced and nutritionally complete meal that you can prepare in under two minutes.”

Huel makes ready-to-drink meals and powders. The ready-to-drink meals now come in three flavors. They are Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate (new). The powders come in four flavors (and now in a Gluten Free version). They are Vanilla, Chocolate, Berry and Unflavored. They also offer flavor packets in 8 great flavors.
Each bottle / full serving of Huel has 400 calories. You can also prepare half as a snack or drink half a bottle at a time. The Husband is often looking for something to get him through the afternoon. He’s a tall guy with a fast metabolism. I was so excited to see how much he liked the Vanilla ready-to-drink Huel. It’s a nutritionally sound meal replacement or snack and is so much healthier than most things he reaches for. Joe and I also liked the taste and were both glad that it wasn’t too sweet.
The Chocolate powder mixes up really well. It really does take less than two minutes to make a healthy shake. The Unflavored powder can be mixed with one of their eight flavor boosts. You can get a trial pack of all eight to see what flavors you like best. There are some great options like Chai and Mocha.
