It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too. It’s been a Frozen February with no big adventures for me so I say bring on March!
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m super excited for my charity class for Alexandra’s Playground and my run with Team Alex at the NYC Half. Are you free (and in Chicago) on 3/3? Here’s the link for my class and raffle. Not free but want to support my run? Here’s the link on Crowdrise. (Every $5 buys a raffle ticket!) My swag bags are going to be pretty awesome! I have goodies from Athleta, SOS Rehydrate, Bada Bean Snacks, Mozaics, Justin’s Nut Butter, Run Gum, Gaia Herbs, Limitless Coffee, Nooma, Foxxpop, Chomps, Dude Wipes, Koia and more! The best thing by far is the awesome support from my friends. I’m so grateful for my people! The class has raised $1000 so far and my fundraising total is over $2500! Even better than that is the encouragement and enthusiasm from my friends supporting my efforts.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m headed to Expo West next week. I’ve been making appointments and planning for some fun events with some of my fave brands and some new to me ones, too. I’m getting excited and am glad I’ll have some great wing-ladies. Becca is coming again and Kaila is meeting us this year. Looks like we’ll see lots of CBD, keto foods, mushrooms and plant based everything. What do you want me to look for?
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I just read/listened to (via Whispersync) a super depressing book and started watching a super depressing TV show. I read Imagine Me Gone for my book club. It’s about a very dysfunctional family with a depressed father and a mentally ill son… among other problems. It was well written but very difficult to read. Then, I started watching A Million Little Things. It’s about a group of friends when one commits suicide. The acting is great but it’s another tear jerker. Then, I’d ask if you could recommend some lighthearted entertainment for me… PLEASE!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m experiencing extreme FOMO watching folks in Tokyo running the Tokyo Marathon. I’ve been scared of Tokyo because it seems overwhelming (cue: Lost in Translation). Watching Instagram and Facebook, my friends who are there look like they’re having a blast. I just asked The Husband and he said he’s up for the trip. Maybe next year? Who’s with me?
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about a weird experience I had last weekend. I went to meet some girlfriends out at the new Big Star near Wrigley Field. I walked in behind some young girls who got carded. I jokingly asked the bouncer if he wanted to see my ID. He said “Yeah – no. You’re my age.” But then as I smiled and walked by he said “47.” I thought that was oddly specific (and correct). I saw him again as I looked for my friends and he clarified by saying “it’s just that I could tell because of the food our parents served us when we were kids.” Um. Say what?! I added this to my Instagram stories and someone from the restaurant followed up with me. I just said “don’t worry about it.” I didn’t want to mess with any one’s livelihood but… isn’t that totally odd?!
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
Have a great weekend!
PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
