I “found” RXBAR in 2014 and reviewed them in 2015. They were recommended to me by friends who did Crossfit and a physician who I interviewed with. At the time, they had real food bars in five flavors. The bars were (and still are) Whole 30 approved, gluten free, dairy free, soy free and contain no-GMOs.
Flash forward to today. RXBAR has a new look, 15 flavors (some seasonal), 5 kinds of nut butter and 6 flavors of RXBAR Kids bars. They clearly list all of the ingredients on the wrapper and have started a “No BS” campaign. They even have a (hilarious) hotline where you can report any BS you find. It’s 1-877-THATS-BS. Check out their Twitter for some funny “That’s BS” videos.
I’ve been trying all of the new flavors and products for the last few years. I recently reconnected with the RXBAR marketing team and received the mother lode of bars and nut butters. As you can see, I got 10 boxes of bars, 3 boxes of kids bars and 3 boxes of nut butter. I’ve been sharing these like crazy. Now, I’m going to tell you about them and then I’m going to send two lucky readers one of each of the items I received.
The original RXBAR flavors are still among my favorites. They are Apple Cinnamon, Coffee Chocolate, Coconut Chocolate, Blueberry and Peanut Butter. They’ve added Peanut Butter Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Coconut Chocolate, Chocolate Sea Salt, Maple Sea Salt, Peanut Butter and Berries, Mango Pineapple and Mixed Berry. Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread come out seasonally. My faves are Chocolate Sea Salt, Maple Sea Salt, Coffee Chocolate and Blueberry.
If you’ve been around here, you know I love nut butter. RX Nut Butter has added egg white (like the bars) for added protein. They have five flavors: Peanut Butter, Honey Cinnamon Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, Vanilla Almond Butter and Maple Cinnamon Almond Butter. They come in (a bit over) 1 oz squeeze packs which I love for portion control and convenience. My faves are Vanilla Almond Butter and Honey Cinnamon Peanut Butter.
Finally, they offer RXBAR Kids in 6 flavors. RXBAR Kids contain the same ingredients as RXBARs: egg whites, fruits and nuts, but in “kid-friendly flavors and portions.” They have 7g protein and 3g fiber in a convenient snack your kids will love. They contain “No Bad Stuff” – see what they did there? The Kids bars are the perfect size for a quick bite before a short run or an afternoon pick me up for grown ups, too.
