It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for the new Friday Five 2.0. If you’ve been following along, you know I’m at Expo East in Baltimore. Don’t miss my Instagram stories (I put a “highlights” story up in case you missed them). I’m sharing finds and fun throughout the days. I’ll do full recaps, but I’m going to share 5 trends I’m seeing so far from the first two days I’ve been here.
It’s always so much fun to come to Natural Products’ Expos. I meet tons of people and see many friends I’ve made over the years. I find tons of new products and get to check out what’s new from my favorite brands. Expo East also has an “Influencer Summit” that I’ve been invited to for the last two years. This is also the second year that my friends from SOS Rehydrate hosted a run. It was a 5K that had a prize for first woman and man this year so there was some fun “competition” and lots of fun, too.
5 Trends from Expo East
1. CBD oil is IN and in everything. Last year, hemp was in everything and it still is! That said, everyone is promoting the “chill” with CBD oil. It’s in all kind of digestible forms like honey and even caramels and coffee. It’s also in roll-ons and balms. Have you tried CBD oil? I tasted the honey from Beekeeper’s Naturals. It was smooth and tasty but I didn’t have a big enough serving for medicinal properties. I’m curious!
2. Your kids’ snacks are getting healthier AND tastier. This trend has been building with added veggies in lots of snacks like MadeGood cookies (see review). Now, Perfect Bar and This Bar Saves Lives are jumping into the kid’s market with Rx Bar and Thunderbird. I’m super excited to try the Perfect Kids bars. They come in Peanut Butter Cookie and Chocolate Chip which is perfect for me.
3. The Cs still have it – cauliflower, collagen, coconut and coffee/cold brew! Just like Expo West, there are tons of cauliflower products. There’s also lots of collagens and products with collagen in them – like yummy Vanilla Collagen Almond Butter from Wild Friends. Coconut (and coconut oil, MCTs, etc.) is still an ingredient of choice (a sustaining trend). I’ve been discriminating but there’s still A LOT of coffee and cold brew on offer. I love it but I need some sleep, too!
4. Everyone is adding veggies to snacks and there are a ton of great prepared veggie options, too! It’s great to see added veggies in snacks (like MadeGood foods and This Bar Saves Lives’ kids bar among many others). There are also a ton of new prepared veggie options in the refrigerated and freezer sections. I was excited to see more options (and sauces) from Veggie Noodle Co. and new options from Path of Life and many others.
5. Fat is where it’s at – Keto is IN! Paleo is still around but Keto is king. I’m glad that people are embracing healthy fats again. Keto is not for me, but it works for many people. I’ll keep you posted on what I find.
I’ve only seen a small portion of the show so far so I’ll be back with full recaps and photos as usual.
Have a great weekend friends. I hope that all in the path of Florence are safe and that life gets back to normal soon.
