If you’ve been around here, you know I’m always on the go for work or play. When Ministry of Supply reached out to see if I wanted to check out their “scientifically better dress clothes,” I jumped at the chance. They asked me to try them out and then to build a backpack of clothes to take on a week long trip. I always try to bring versatile clothes to pack less, so I was game for this challenge.
Ministry of Supply was “born” at MIT. They researched the human form and invented a clothing line that’s sweat proof, high stretch and easy care. These professional clothes are easy to wear and travel in. The clothes are “engineered to perform” and flatter. The company founder even ran a half marathon in an MoS suit – in 1:24! They make clothes for men and women. The men’s line has more casual pieces and socks now, too.
I started with the Slim Kinetic Pants. I picked black, of course. They fit me perfectly out of the box. The pants are form fitting and very flattering. They have 8 panels for improved mobility and stretch without losing their shape. They’re also sweat wicking, wrinkle free and machine washable. They come in grey and navy, too. These pants are perfect for a business meeting with or without the matching Kinetic Blazer. They also look great with a casual top. These are perfect for business travel and for after work!
I decided to buy some shirts, too. I went with the Luxe Touch Tee and Tank and an “Easier Than Silk” blouse. The Luxe Touch line is soft and silky and is also sweat wicking, wrinkle free and machine washable. These are nice enough to wear under a suit jacket or stand alone. They’re perfect travel pieces. I work my Luxe Touch Tee on a long plane ride and then to Disney on a hot evening. I was able to wear it again on my trip as it didn’t hold any odors.
The Easier Than Silk blouse is sweat proof, wrinkle free and stretches. It looks like silk but is much easier to care for! I went with the blush color instead of white and really like the shade.
I’m lucky enough to live near a Ministry of Supply store. I went in to try the new Kinetic A Line Dress and the Kinetic Skinny Crop Pants. Both were winners. The dress is flattering and even has zipper pockets! It can be dressed up for work or accessorized for play. This is a great dress for travel as it’s wrinkle free and easy care like the rest of the line. The Skinny Crop Kinetic Pants fit me perfectly off the hanger, too. They can be dressed up or down, as well. This is another piece that is a must have for the one week travel backpack!
On a one week trip, I’d grab these six pieces and supplement a few casual pieces. Add my running gear and I’d be set to go! The men’s line is even easier as there are more casual pieces in addition to the professional line.
