It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for Friday Five 2.0. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m the world’s greatest aunt. Well… that may be an exaggeration but I’m taking my 18 year old niece to Disneyland and Universal Studios for her high school graduation. When we decided to go to California, that’s what she wanted to do. You may know that I’m not into Disney or theme parks in general, so I do feel like I deserve some credit. On the upside, we’ll also get to see my in-laws and SIL’s family, too. That will be fun for me (and hopefully for her, too).
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m excited about some work changes in the upcoming month. I’d tell you the details (which are not quite ready for prime time internet consumption.) Stay tuned here for more information.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m trying out some awesome fitness stuff including the Fluid Running system (for water running which I think may be something that will help me get in good workouts while my hamstring heals fully) and the Activ5 system which is billed as “a tiny gym in your pocket.” Also, we’re trying Funk Away spray for our smelly shoes and gear. So far, so good! I’d ask if you’d tried any new fitness gadgets or tools lately.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m excited to be planning some trips for work and fun. I’m planning half marathons with friends in Madison, WI and near Seattle plus the NYC Marathon. I’m going to visit my happy place (By Pond Farm). The Husband and I are narrowing down vacation ideas – thinking Rome and Southern Italy (tentatively). I love having things to look forward to! I’d ask what you have on the docket for the rest of the summer and fall.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you’d read anything on or tried intermittent fasting. I received a review copy of Z-Fast – A Simple, Proven Intermittent Fasting Method. It basically describes the author’s use of intermittent fasting with his regular diet and exercise to maintain his “lifetime goal weight” for over 8 years. He cites many studies, health benefits and case studies. He has 3 plans – one for weight loss, one for maintenance and one for “intervention” (when you’ve gone above your goal and want to lose the weight. I’m not one to skip meals, but I do find the science intriguing. I’ll review the book in more detail soon!
What’s happening by you? Please tell me in the comments.
Have a great weekend and wish me luck at Disney!
