Some days this blog makes me feel like I’ve hit the lottery. I got an email from Lauren, one of the Community Managers at Athleta Chicago. She asked me if I wanted to come to meet her to discuss opportunities to work together. Who me? Hell, yes! I love Athleta.
I went down to the Shops at Fremont to meet Lauren. Athleta has three locations in Chicago and more in the Chicagoland area. Of course, most items are available online. We chatted about the blog, my running and travel and came up with a bunch of ideas for working together. Stay tuned for more on this.
Our first order of business was a store tour of all of the current lines. We checked out fitness and running wear. I have a variety of pieces from both lines. I was excited to hear about a revamp of the running line for fall. I “volunteered” to test and share the new line, of course.
We checked out the lounge wear and girl’s section. These are areas that I’m not as familiar with. The girl’s clothes are adorable. They definitely didn’t have cool workout clothes when I was a kid.
Finally, we hit my fave section – travel. I also checked out the new yoga line. Then, I got to try some new items on.
I tried on the new Skyline Pants and Skyline Shorts with a Cloudlight Twist Back Tank. The pants are so cute and comfortable. They have a fun tie at the waist. They can be dressed up or down. They’re perfect for travel as the light material will not wrinkle and is easy to clean. The shorts are a great fit and length for me. I have a hard time finding shorts, so these are on my must get list.
Then, I stepped out of my comfort zone with the new Floral Elation Tights, floral bra and a light green tank. The tights are cute on the mannequin and are very comfortable. If you know me, you know I always wear black/solid tights. Always. I took an Instagram poll. 88% of people were down with the patterned tights. This pattern is really pretty.
Great news! Athleta is having a their semi-annual sale. Starting today (July 12) at 9:00 AM (opening 1 hour early), they’ll have markdown prices on a TON of Athleta favorites!
