I have a confession to make. My skincare routine is not actually a routine. Every morning and evening, I wash my face with soap. When I remember, I put on sunscreen. I know, it’s not good. I’m very lucky that my skin holds up as well as it does. That said, when the folks at ZENMED offered to send me some natural, cruelty free skincare products to try, I said “yes!” They sent me a customized set of products and will send one to a lucky reader, so read on!
Started in 1999, ZENMED creates physician formulated, naturally-based skincare. ZENMED uses a combination of natural, pharmaceutical-grade ingredients mixed with vitamins, minerals and essential oils. With their “carefully crafted products, [they] strive to make your skin appear as though you never had an issue in the first place.” They make products in small batches to have maximum potency and freshness. The products are paraben and sulfate free and contain no synthetic fragrance, irritants, dyes or steroids. They’re on the PETA and Leaping Bunnies approved sellers lists.
They started by asking me about my skin. They asked about my skin type: oily, dry or combination. And then, they asked about any skin issues like acne, redness, rosacea, scarring, wrinkles, lines, pigmentation. Finally, we reviewed skin sensitivities.
I received a customized set of six products. They include:
- Facial Cleansing Gel ($17)
- AHA/BHA Complex ($19.95)
- Oil Free Day Lotion ($24.95)
- AVT Cream ($34.95)
- Renewing Microdermabrasion Complex ($39.99)
- Retinol Booster ($42)
It’s a bit tough to go from soap and water to a skincare routine. That said, it was easy to swap in the facial cleansing gel for my soap. In the morning, I’ve been using the AHA/BHA and Day Lotion. My skin feels so soft and I have to admit, it didn’t take too much time.
I added the AVT Cream to my evening routine. I can use all of the anti-aging help I can get! I also tried the Microdermabrasion. It says to start with two times per week. It does increase sun sensitivity. We haven’t had any here recently but if I use it in the summer, I’ll have to be more conscientious about my sunscreen! I didn’t try the serum. It was just one too many steps. (I’d be happy to give it to someone if they’ll use it – leave a comment.)
All in all, I’m really pleased with how soft and smooth my skin feels. You don’t have to take my word for it. The nice folks at ZENMED will send one lucky reader a custom skincare routine similar to the one I received. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. Winners must be US residents, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway runs through April 26. A winner will be selected and on April 27.
