You may remember a local fave, TeaSquares from my 2017 review. TeaSquares are “bite-sized snacks infused with the natural energy of tea leaves.” TeaSquares are all natural, vegan, gluten free snack bites that are infused with naturally occurring caffeine from all natural, organic tea.
TeaSquares were created by young entrepreneurs in Chicago. Their focus is on good food and the community. They created this great snack to fuel their busy lives. Now, they provide employment opportunities to young adults in underserved neighborhoods. You know I love that!
I supported TeaSquares’ Kickstarter for the development of snack packs. All of the packages have a great new look and now come in two sizes 2.25 oz bags and .7 oz snack size.
TeaSquares come in three varieties. They are Vanilla Chai, Acai Blueberry and Citrus Green Tea Matcha. Each bite-size square is made with puffed millet, crunchy almonds and delicious dried fruit. The tea adds a small amount of caffeine. There is 30 mg of caffeine per serving (which is about 1/2 of a cup of tea). These snacks will not give you the jitters like some energy snacks/drinks. Each serving is 100 calories and has 4g of protein and only 3g of sugar.
My fave is still Vanilla Chai followed closely by Acai Blueberry. They’re tasty and I like the nutritional benefits of the healthy fats from the almonds and coconut oil, too. These are a great late afternoon snack. They keep me full until dinner and the small bit of caffeine doesn’t hurt to get over the afternoon slump! Becca is a fan of these to fuel her running and I can see why. They’re very light on the stomach but the nuts, seeds and coconut oil keep you going.
I’m going to share my Kickstarter perks with two lucky readers. Each winner will get one 2.25 oz bag and four .7 oz snack packs. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. Winners must be US residents, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway runs through May 9. A winner will be selected and on May 10.
In the mean time, you can get TeaSquares online or on Amazon. You can also keep up with them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
