Currently… A post on “things of the moment” for me (#20). [Inspired by Marcia and other bloggers.]
State of things: As I mentioned in my April Coffee Date post, March and April were pretty filled with travel. I have a few weeks of no work travel (yay!) and one personal trip for my 25 year college reunion (gasp!) The latter seems very tough to believe. Where does the time go? I’m excited to see my best girlfriends and hopefully some other people we know. We’re also looking forward to spring weather – hopefully it will arrive by summer. How are things by you? What’s currently keeping you busy?
Books: I’ve been binge reading/listening to inexpensive mystery/police procedural books/Audible books. I did read some books I saw on Pure Wow including Neighborly (meh) and The Woman in the Window (good!). Have you read anything good lately? [Please note: this section includes Amazon affiliate links.]
Movies: Since my last Currently post, I watched most of the Oscar movies including The Shape of Water (surprisingly good), I, Tonya (good) and Lady Bird (good, but kind of overrated, IMO). I saw some of The Florida Project on a plane. It was very tough to watch. Have you seen anything good lately?
TV: We’re watching the current seasons of Homeland and The Americans. Both are really good. We watched season 2 of Sneaky Pete (also really good) and Ozark. Have you been watching? Anything else good for us to put on our list?
Website/Podcast: I’ve been doing a lot of Whispersync for Audible. I’ve been enjoying Modern Love and Death, Sex and Money, as usual, too. Have you heard anything good lately?
Run: My running has been really fun lately. I’m feeling some spring in my step. You can see my Q1 recap here. I’ve run 5 races this year and I enjoyed them all. In April, I did a 5K and a 10 miler (my fastest since 2014). I won my age group in both and beat my time goals. Fingers crossed for continued pep in my step and a good marathon on Memorial Day weekend.
Non-Run Workouts: I’ve done a bunch of fun charity classes including one at Barry’s Bootcamp and a fun spin class at Studio 3. I also did a Sweatworking Crawl at Studio Fuse. It’s a single location with 4 studios. They include Hang 5 (surfboard workout), Sproing, Kick@55 and Yoga Space. This was a challenging afternoon! Oh, and how can I forget?! Cat yoga at The Catcade. 26 cats, 15 yogis. Chaos! Have you tried anything new?
Also, you can join for SweatWorking’s #MindBodySoul challenge in May. Each week will include one happiness workshop, three mediations and one restorative yoga flow. Session ranges from 5 – 20 minutes. All you need is a yoga mat and yourself! #MindBodySoul team members who complete the challenge workouts will be eligible to participate in weekly happiness-oriented giveaways. People who complete the entire challenge will receive five free 1-month guest passes to the SweatWorking app and be entered to win a grand prize. Click here to learn more and to join!
Food/Drink: I went to Expo West (day 1 & 2 and day 3 recaps, 5 Big Trends or my Instagram highlights) and the Good Food Fest in March and GF + AF Expo in April. These were in addition to my usual “finding.” I have TONS of finds (old and new) to share. I have new flavors from Thunderbird Bar, Redd Bar (giveaway ends 4/25), Nak’d and Chomps. Plus, new finds from Rejuven8 and Macaw Bars. Check out 5 more new finds here. I also tried meal kits from Chef’d and Green Chef. Green Chef is a winner. This is just a tiny slice of what’s to come. Stay tuned. Which are you most interested in trying?
Excitement: Erica Finds is six years old. Time flies! You can learn more and enter to win one of six awesome prizes here. What’s exciting by you?
Pet Peeve: Illogical decisions by smart people. Some of what’s happening at work has been making shake my head. What is irking you lately?
Wish(es): Several weeks of spring before summer starts. Is that too much to ask? What are you wishing for?
What is keeping you busy these days? Please share in the comments!
