The nice folks at Maddy & Maize saw a review I wrote and asked me if I wanted to check them out. Maddy & Maize is a small batch gluten-free, gourmet popcorn made with all natural, local high quality ingredients with unique flavors. Their popcorn is made from non-GMO corn kernels and offers organic and vegan options with no artificial ingredients. Of course, I said “yes – send it over.”
The nice folks at Maddy & Maize sent me all 7 flavors to try! There’s a great mix of sweet and savory. For “sweet,” they have Lemon Raspberry Layer Cake, Birthday Cake, Cookies & Cream and Dark Chocolate Caramel. The “savory” are Thai Coconut Curry, Aged White Cheddar and Bourbon BBQ.
I’m having trouble picking a favorite. They do sweet AND savory very well. I took Lemon Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Caramel to my book club. We had a taste off. Surprisingly, I loved the Lemon Raspberry. They incorporate the perfect amount of lemon icing into the mix. It’s delicious! My favorite savory flavor was Bourbon BBQ. This was also a surprise because I’m not a big BBQ flavor fan. It was the perfect mix of sweet and smoky. If this is not enough of a rave, The Husband said this is the “best tasting ‘find of yours’ I’ve had yet.” That is saying something! In the spirit of full disclosure, the only one I didn’t love was the Aged White Cheddar. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I just wasn’t wowed by it.
