It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for the new Friday Five 2.0. Believe it or not, we’re almost at the end of another month, so it’s a free week. I’m going to go with things I’m looking forward to this spring. I have a busy few months ahead and a lot of things to look forward to.
5 Things I’m Looking Forward to This Spring
1. Expo West. I’m heading back to Natural Products Expo West for the 3rd year in a row. Expo West is the mother of all conventions for natural products. It offers the opportunity to see all of the new trends in natural products and foods, to meet the brands and sample EVERYTHING. I also have the opportunity to meet other bloggers and see friends I’ve met in past years. [Here are my posts from 2016 (day 1 and recap) and 2017 (day 1 and day 2).]
2. NYC Half Marathon. I’m running the NYC Half with the Alexandra’s Playground team. This will be my 7th year in a row. I love the race (even though they changed the course – sad face.) The cause is amazing, too. My friends Andrea and Michael Vitale started Alexandra’s Playground to honor their daughter who passed away in 2008. Alexandra loved to play so the organization raises money for playgrounds in underserved communities in the US and abroad. They also sponsor research on play safety. [Learn more about Alexandra’s Playground here and you can sponsor me here. Raffle coming soon!]
3. 25th College Reunion. It’s my 25th college reunion this year. That seems crazy to me, but it’s true. I haven’t been to any Rutgers reunions since 1993, but my girlfriends and I are going to check this one out! Time really does fly!
4. Hiking/Running Adventure with Lauren and Russ. Last year, I had a blast at the Grand Canyon with Lauren and Russ and their friend Paul. Russ and Paul did Rim to Rim to Rim and Lauren and I did an awesome 17 mile hike/run. More on this adventure here. Russ has hatched an extreme running plan for Zion. Lauren and I will go for less extreme and maximum fun. We’re also spending one night at Red Mountain Spa – which is one of my happy places!
5. Mountains 2 Beach Marathon. I’m the kind of runner who needs a goal. My friend Ken lives on the West Coast now. Before Christmas he pinged me about a downhill marathon in California on Memorial Day. I signed up but haven’t fully committed. [Read: of course, I’m going to do it. Look at that course. It has my name written all over it!]
What are you looking forward to this spring?
Have a great weekend!
