Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for summer to come to Chicago. That said, the summer heat can get runners and bikers out before the sunrise or after dark to beat the heat. I was offered the opportunity to check out Brilliant Reflective DIY reflective safety strips to make my gear safer in the dark.
Brilliant Reflective Safety Strips are made with 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material. They come in iron-on and stick-on options. The strips’ exclusive colorization process allows for high visibility at night, without being noticeable during the day.
You can just stick them on your helmet, bike or shoes or iron them on your active wear and you’re good to go! Brilliant Reflective Safety Strips are available in black, red, blue and purple to blend in or to stand out. They have a placement guide to help you put them in the most effective places on your clothes and gear.
I received a stick-on pack and an iron-on pack. I shared with my fave Iron Woman, Lynn, for her biking.
I tested the stick-on black on my A Sweat Life hat. It’s super easy to peel and apply the strips. You can cut them to change the size and shape, as well.
With low light, I could barely see the black strip on my hat. With the flash (right), The reflective material is super bright. I could definitely be seen on the running/biking path with that reflector. These stick-on strips are great for helmets, bags and shoes.
