It’s been a pretty rainy season here in Chicago and in San Francisco where my office is. When I was offered the opportunity to check out the Rain Scarf, a reversible scarf and waterproof shawl, I said “YES!”
The Rain Scarf is a soft, unisex scarf that comes in six colors. If it rains, you simply turn it inside out to reveal a waterproof hood and two waterproof zip pockets. It’s ingenious! This idea was originally crowdfunded and the Rain Scarf is made my an independent manufacturer.
The Rain Scarf is great for travel. It folds flat and doesn’t take much space. Then, if you get caught in the rain, you’re covered. They say, “the Rain Scarf is perfect for city dwellers, travelers and any one on the go – or for anytime you’re stuck without an umbrella (or don’t want to carry one!), for sporting events and concerts (most stadiums don’t allow umbrellas), riding a bike or whenever you want to be hands-free, and dry!”
I gave the Rain Scarf a try in a drizzle and then in a pretty big downpour. It worked very well even in the downpour! If it’s windy, the scarf helps to hold the hood on. When I got home, I hung up the hood in the shower to dry. I was happy to see that it’s machine washable and can even be tumble dried. I’m planning to keep this in my rolling bag for my trips. The trunk of our car would be another great place to stow it. Don’t you think?
The Rain Scarf is $19.99 at Just Solutions. You can also follow them on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to see what else is new.
