The founders of Zest Tea loved the flavor of tea, but wanted the kick of coffee. They set out to amp up really tasty tea leaves. Initially, they made these blends for themselves, but once their friends tried them, they wanted more! They started with a small Crowdfunding round in 2014 and now they are selling Zest Tea on the web and in some retail stores.
I met Karyn from Zest Tea at Expo East. Caffeine and energy products were VERY popular there this year. I loved the look of the brand and taste of the samples I tried. They also smell delicious when they’re brewed. I told Karyn about this blog and about my caffeine filled life. We decided that we were pretty much a perfect match.
This “High Octane” tea comes in four flavors. They are Cinnamon Apple (black), Pomegranate Mojito (Green), Blue Lady (Black) and Earl Gray (Black). They sell them in sachets and loose leaf and offer a sampler to try all four. They sent me the Pomegranate Mojito (their biggest seller) and Cinnamon Apple.
I love the look and feel of the canisters and tea sachets. It is the perfect mix of bold and elegant. I tried Cinnamon Apple first, as it is the perfect fall flavor. I love cinnamon and found that the apple taste was not very strong. I enjoyed the tea and the alert feeling I had all afternoon after drinking it.
I tried the Pomegranate Mojito and was not expecting to love it. I don’t normally drink hot, fruity drinks. Well, I was wrong! It’s delicious. I liked it even better than the Cinnamon Apple. I accidentally left it mid drink and when I came back later it was cold. I enjoyed it cold, too. This would be great iced in summer. And, truth be told, a shot of vodka in it on a summer evening would be mighty nice, too! I can see why this is their most popular seller!
