Welcome to the 9th Ultimate Coffee Date link up of 2016. 9 down, 3 to go as 2016 flies by. I‘m linking up again with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner. What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup , “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we have the good fortune of being in wine country this weekend celebrating the wedding of two dear friends. Liv is one of seven children and she is the last to marry. Cue the party tunes for her parents! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and filled with love – as it should be. The party was a blast. We danced the night away to terrific music and then headed over to an after party at a late local bar where the “Coney Dog” station was set up. The bride’s family is from Cincinnati.
If we were having coffee… I would recall that last month, I was licking my wounds from the San Francisco Marathon. I took it easy in August running wise and got a physical. All of my tests came back fine, so I guess I was just over-trained. I did my first long run for NYC on Friday (15 miles) and it went OK. The last few miles were tough. We’ll see. Fingers crossed that I can get my mojo back by November 6th. If not, I will smile and run the best I can. It’s my favorite day of the year.
If we were having coffee… I would tell you that The Husband got a “new” car. He has been dreaming of this car for 20 plus years. It’s a 1995 Lotus Esprit S4S. When the truck arrived, he said “this is the happiest day of my life.” He quickly said our wedding day was happy, too, but that it was “stressful.” LOL. The car is really beautiful and is in perfect condition. I am planning to stay 10 feet away at all times. He doesn’t run in my running shoes, so… I don’t drive his cars.
If we were having coffee… I would also remind you that our amazing friend Ivonne Mosquera-Schmidt is headed to the Paralympics for the 1500 meter run. The 1500m semifinals for her group are September 15th at 12:45pm Rio time and finals are September 17th at 7:07pm Rio time. Here’s a link to the a story about her guide Kyle Wardell. I wouldn’t mention that I used to run with Ivonne, but now I would eat her dust… or maybe I would!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you to get excited! I’m going to Expo East for at least one day in September. You may remember my amazing haul from Expo West and the many giveaways that resulted from it. Expo East is smaller but there are some awesome vendors (new and faves) that I’m excited to meet. Expo East is toward the end of the month. I can’t wait to tell you about it in the October Ultimate Coffee Date! What natural food or product company do you most want me to check out? Here is the list of exhibitors.
That’s all I have for this month! What would you tell me over a cup? Leave some coffee talk in the comments!
PS. Don’t miss my great giveaway!
