It’s really cool to see small companies grow and thrive. Stacy and I went to Cleveland to run Kim’s first post partum half marathon in 2011 and were introduced to Good Greens bars. At the time, they had six flavors. Since then, they’ve added non-dairy yogurt flavors and offer twelve thirteen varieties. They sent me a box of 12 plus and awesome t-shirt. Good news! They’ve offered to send the same to one lucky reader.
Good! Greens is a mission driven company that strives to make healthy eating available to everyone in their community. Their goal is to “help everyone be their best good.” They say, “Good is what we eat, how we care for ourselves and care for each other, and it’s the promise we bring to the world in wellness, humanitarianism and spirit. Good drives everything we do, and we encourage others to do good as well.” Love it!
Good! Greens bars have a great nutritional profile and they taste great, too. All flavors are gluten free, vegan and organic. The bars contain raw ingredients, Omega 3s, antioxidants, probiotics and a proprietary Superfood Powder (greens) which provides the “antioidant equivalent” of 100% daily allowance of fruits and vegetables. There are no synthetic or natural vitamin isolates.
Good! Greens bars now come in 13 flavors. The original flavors are Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Chunk, Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Coconut, Wildberry. They recently added Chocolate Banana. The (soy) greek yogurt flavors are Apricot Crush, Blueberry Bliss, Banana Nut, Pumpkin Spice, Pomegranate Acai and Apple Crumb. I like the size and consistency of the bars. They are filling but lighter in texture than many other bars. Most of all, I love the nutritional profile of these bars. They are really good for you! (Pun intended.) You can see how they compare to other popular bars HERE.
When we met Good! Greens in 2011, we tried all of the non-yogurt flavors. My favorite was (and still is) the Chocolate Coconut. This was followed closely by Chocolate Mint and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Stacy’s fave was Chocolate Peanut Butter – she asked “how could that combo ever be bad?” Of the yogurt variety, Pumpkin Spice and Apple Crumb and both are big winners in my book. I’m a huge fan of all things pumpkin and apple. I like the new Apricot Crush a lot, too. Apricots are not that common in energy bars and I love them!
